DRAWINGS

Drawings of the Columbia River Gorge from life with water color pencils on Reeves BFK paper each 22"x30".

My preference is to look at the landscape with its deep and wide vistas. I enjoy noting the movement of clouds, water, wind and the wrinkling of the land mass into hills. Then there are the marvellous stone and rocky outcrops.

To see all of this beauty inspires awe, love and a sense of being one with life. It fosters a feeling of unity.

This energy is transmitted to a piece of paper with paint and a brush stroke and the image communicates itself directly to the viewer.

How this happens I don't know. That is the mystery and beauty of art making.
